Alain Dominique Perrin The love of beauty and excellence
Alain Dominique Perrin : itinerary of an esthete
With Château Lagrézette, Alain Dominique Perrin ideally combines his two passions: the love of beauty and the creation of exceptional products. Driven by an extraordinary will, he devotes infinite time and energy to rehabilitating this forgotten castle, restoring its gardens and bringing its land back to life.
Finally, to revive viticulture on the Lagrézette estate, he called on the great oenologist Michel Rolland in 1988
Président of "Cartier" from 1975 until 1998
Alain Dominique Perrin has always shown his taste for exception, his passion for "beauty" in all its forms and his desire to give life to projects deemed difficult, if not impossible.
This is how he has conducted his career. Going from a first life as an antique dealer to an entrepreneurial vocation, he embarked on the Cartier adventure in the 1980s to make it one of the most renowned brands in the world and become its President
Creation of the Cartier Fondation for Contemporary Art
Later, his talent and skills would be recognized to the point that he took over the leadership of the entire Richemont group (Cartier, Van Cleef and Arpels, Jaeger Lecoultre, IWC, Panerai; Piaget; Montblanc etc…).
Far from being satisfied with this worldwide success, he has also established himself as one of the first patrons of contemporary art in France with the creation, in 1984, of the Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain, in Paris, which he still presides. He is also President of the Musée du Jeu de Paume.
Creation of the first "Sup de Luxe" University
Also passionate about training, he created, in 1990, the first luxury marketing school in France "Sup de Luxe" within the business school EDC (School of Dirigeants et Créateurs d'Entreprise), which he bought with other former students and which delivers a Master degree, ranked among the best in France for post-bac schools. In 2010, the EDC group created the first school specializing in sports management in France: SMS.
Father of five children, Alain Dominique Perrin is Commander of the Legion of Honor, Commander of the Order of Merit and Commander of Arts and Letters.
