Le Rosé de Julie

Rosé de Julie comes from our 20 years old estate of Caillac located on the third terrace of the Lot River with a silty-clay gravelly soil. The Caillac « terroir », with hot summers and an Indian summers, is ideal for a perfect maturity of our king grape variety, the Malbec.


Color
A pale pink color.

Nose

The first nose, powerful and intense, is dominated by peach and raspberry. When swirling, the wine is very expressive, complex and elegant, with hints of gooseberry, citrus fruit zests and jasmine.


Taste

The palate is well-balanced, with freshness and peach, raspberry flavours notes leading to a persistent, delicious finish.

Vinification

- Whole bunches are pressed very gently in a horizontal pneumatic press.

- Alcoholic fermentation during 20 days with temperature control of 18°C.

Fermentation container
Thermo-regulated stainless steel vats.
Maturation
The wine is then aged in stainless steel vats during 4 month with stirring of the lees every week in order to keep them in suspension.
